Contributor Allocation Cubes across E-Lists

Hi there,

I am really struggling on this one in Contributor:  I want to have a set of generic profiles (such as Even, Quarterly, 445 etc.) in one cube (I have called this my Generic Profiles Cube).  I want the User of E-List A to be able to go into another Cube and look down the list of items that need to be allocated.  Then I want the User to choose (for example) that item 1 is to be allocated Evenly, Item 2 to be 4,4,5, Item 3 to be Quarterly etc.  I have called this cube the iSet Profiles Cube.

And then, based on the choices made in the iSet Profiles cube, the figure in question will get allocated per the User's choice.

However, the crucial part I cannot get working, is that I want the User who controls E-List B (and who has the same items that need allocating, but just for their particular E-List) to be able to go down the same list, and choose different profiles....so this User may want Item 1 to be Quarterly, Item 2 to be Evenly and Item 3 to be 4,4,5 etc.

And this is the part I cannot seem to get to work.

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I cant tell exactly without seeing the analyst model but I would think you may need to do the following.

1.  Add the elist to your i Set Profiles Cube.
2.  Check your D-Links such that you arent allocating from i Set Profiles cube anymore and that you are now matching e list items.
3.  Im not sure where you calculate the profile and measure data but check the link that sends your profile numbers to this cube.  This may mean you have to add Your Jan Feb Mar etc. items to your i Set Profile cube and then hide them.  Create a link that lookups the profile from the selection and pulls the data from your Profile basis cube into your i Set Profile hidden items.

Thanks that worked perfectly....as you suggested, I had to change my Select Profiles D-List (in my iSet Profiles cube) to also include the months (ie Select Profiles, Jan, Feb Mar etc.).  The iSet Profiles Cube now has a Lookup Link from my Generic Profiles Cube.  So whenever I change my basis, new profiles come into my Iset Profile cube.

I was then able to create a regular link from my iSet Profile Cube into my Target cube by Month, picking up the data from Jan Feb Mar etc. in the iSet Profiles, meaning I now have the correct profiles to do my break back on.

Awesome! Thanks!!!
