Report Studio - Not Accessible

Hi Gurus,

I have a peculiar problem using Cognos 8.2 Report Studio. I have Vista home premium as client OS. My server is XP Professional running Oracle 10g and Cognos server. I have Framework manager running in Vista. I am able to access all other studios (Query, Analysis, &Event), but I am not able to do the same on Report Studio. It pops up a message with 'ACCESS Denied'. I understand it is a minor access priviliege problem, but I need some clues at the earliest. But when I use XP/server to access it, it works. Thanks.

Hi,
I have found out what is causing this problem. Finally it is Windows Vista and Internet Explorer 7. I have opened the script files that launch Query/Analysis/Event, and found there is no Javascript involved in that. But in the script that initiates ReportStudio, Javascript is there. and according to the microsoft sites, it is a known issue. The possible solutions could be :
1. Download Internet Explorer 8 beta and try using it.
2. Switch the browser to Mozilla Firefox.
3. Check this site for further information :
   (it is unregistering and registering some dlls of microsoft. for some people it works, for some it is not).

Also, you need to change in 'Manage Add-on' as well. I mean, you need to disable some which is blocking your interner explorer sessions. Good luck..
