Does Cognos 8 supports XBRL? and if so, how? since XBRL is not an ouput format option.

XBRL is a specification on how to present financial data in xml format. It's used for standardization in the Financial market. If you want to use it in Cognos 8 you will probably have to convert the xml to an tabular xml model instead of the standard hierarchy model. I think you could do it with an xml tool, e.g. Composite Information Server (CIS) that you can download from Cognos. That's for importing data. If you want to do it for exporting data.... I don't think you can do it out of the box. Maybe CIS can do this also... but that's just guessing...
