Folks

Has anyone ever installed and used Impromptu 7.0 on a Citrix server. Cognos does not support it. So I wanted to know if anyone ever had any issues or challenges with this combination

Thanks

I have seen two sites where Impromptu has been run over Citrix. One worked beautifully, and the other was plagued by a number of really bizarre issues, like report cells losing their data on one report run, and reappearing if you reload the data in the report.

The biggest thing you would need to get sorted out on the installation is getting some of the settings files that would be maintained on the client's workstation to roam correctly for each user via citrix (files like impromptu.ini etc).

I guess you need to assess the risks involved with running an unsupported environment.......although I'd be going for ReportNet!

Thanks for the response JGirl.Ã,  That is my intent though not in a big bang way.

I have 7.2 running on a Citrix 3.0 farm.  Took a little tweaking to get to work, but working fine now.  I only have users that are running reports using via Citrix, any build or queries are being handeled with a local installation on a local machine.

Jenn,

Can you tell us more about the modifications you have done to make your  Impromptu 7.2 working on your citrix server ?

I'm trying to make the same thing with Impromptu 7.3 and 2 Citrix Metaframe servers.

Already tried this : http://support.citrix.com/forums/thread.jspa?forumID=62&threadID=71397&tstart=0

But my windows admins say it is not working :(
