Hi All,

I work in a company where we have to support a number of customers who are still using Cognos 10.x - mostly 10.2, but even some 10.1.

With the rapidly approaching death of Internet Explorer, we've been looking for alternatives to allow us to continue to support these customers, and are yet to find anything consistent.

IE Tab in Chrome works on Windows 10, but not Windows 11 (unless someone knows how to get the Report Studio popup to work).
IE Mode in Edge on Windows 11 works, but apparently not on Windows 12.
Firefox doesn't seem to be an option in its current guise, and Opera was never a great option.

Does anyone have a tried and tested solution for accessing Report Studio in environments where Internet Explorer is not available?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Hi,

The safest option is to stick with a supported browser - for 10.x that would be Firefox ESR (38, 45, 52) or Google Chrome 41

Chrome won't give you access to all the Cognos 10 studios, but you can use it for Report Studio. Probably the safest bet for you is to go the Firefox ESR route.

There is still a Supported Environments page available for 10.2.2 - the link to it is below. It's useful to know about for conformance questions like this:

Cheers!

Meep!
