Good Day

Wondering if anyone can describe the steps required to configure SSO on a new Cognos 11.1 installation on Redhat (with Apache 2.4) with Active Directory (LDAP) configuration ?

I read about configuring REMOTE_USER in Cognos, however want to know if there is more than just that step ?

Thanks

Commander Cognos

Hi fry,

I currently working on the same configuration but I got stuck at two points.
The point is that there is no complete and correct documentation for setting up the Apache Webserver. But it seems that script that IBM is referring to is not correct and you need to apply the LDAP condfiguration from the technote:
https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/cognos-analytics/11.0.0?topic=cahshs-configuring-apache-http-server-http-server-in-cognos-analytics-1104

But the document is still based on Apache 2.2.
At least we are not getting any error in the error logs of the Apache and it seems that the user gets authenticated correctly and is forwared to the gateway. However, while setting up the webserver there are plenty of error regarind the cognos modules and you can solve them by including one of the libraries to the os libraries. But this makes the os instabled for applying patches. So IBM did not solve this well and it needs to be fixed.

Once we try to login to Cognos we get an erorr "invalid login attempt". And the dispatched logs states that there is a missing User Registry. This brings us to the point, that there is not correct documentation how to setup Cognos Configuration with this combination. I'm sill messing around with the correct configuration settings.

So, sorry, not solution to this yet.

Best regards,
