Browsers Supporting Active Report (.mht file) Distribution?

CA 11.0.13

We have plans to retire IE as a supported browser and move to Edge at a similar time as to when we upgrade to CA 11.1.7.

For Cognos, we use Chrome as our browser of choice, but IE for a few other necessary functions (Event Studio, for example).

Does anyone know the how Active Reports (.mht files) can be processed without IE?
Do .mht files open in Edge?
Is there another browser that works?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Adam.

Hi,

The only browser that natively supports MHT files is IE. However if you are consuming your active report through the Cognos UI, the MHT is unpacked and rendered as HTML, so you can use any browser. This does somewhat negate one of the main uses of Active Reports, which is offline interactive reports, though. Another option is to use the Cognos Mobile app on a mobile device to consume the MHT, but obviously this doesn't cater for those without mobile devices.

Cheers!

I just found that all the links to workspaces stopped working from Edge.  When you create a workspace and you share it through email, it creates a link that doesn't work in EDGE.
