Conditional prompt issues on drill through report

UPDATE: Solved it by changing the missing values on the definition to "Always".

I have two reports. The first report drills through to the second report passing a unique database ID. On this second report, there is a prompt that displays to the user the option to show or hide sections on the report. This prompt is a multi-selection checkbox. It is used in the render variable for various blocks on the report page.

When I set up the first report drill through definition, I set it to "Do not use parameter", since I am not passing anything for that parameter. When I do this, the second report will not even show the prompt page, and just run.

I'm assuming this is "by design". So I'm wondering if there is a work around? I've tried setting the prompt to required but it still ignores it.

I also tried moving the prompt to the first report, but since the prompt is optional, the second report (for some bizarre reason) uses the previous cached prompt values as default instead.

Open to any suggestions or ideas. Cheers!
