Cognos BI 10 to Cognos Analytics 11 Upgrade/Migration

I am in the process of migrating a Cognos BI 10.2.1 system to a brand new Cognos Analytics 11.1.2 system. I am experiencing quite a number of issues hope that I can get some discussion going on this process.


1. PDF rendering: An imported report that is set to output as PDF shows a blank first page. No data is returned initially as the layout calculation results are not displayed. The subsequent pages do have data. Also, images that display in HTML do not display in PDF.


2. Import error CM-REQ-4111/CM-REQ-4163/CM-REQ-4191 The parent path for the object does not exist. ...: Even though I selected the root folders in the export, the folders are not being created on import. OK, so I manually create the parent folders. I STILL get this error. 

3. My portal pages: the ages are imported into folders but they are not being put in the user's My portal pages.


4. Lifecycle Manager: some good things, some bad. You cannot export a results report to PDF or XML in order to keep testing evidence. In the side-by-side comparision, it doesn't label which side is which. It won't run on the server so I have to install it on a laoptop that can access both the CBI10 source and the CA11 target instances. It sometimes runs an older version of a report instead of the one you just fixed!

I post more as I find them.

Is it possible to create a new section under Cognos Analytics specifically for upgrades? This is different to Administration and from what I hear is starting become popular as versions of CBI 10 and older are being unsupported by IBM.

Hi Blue,

I am having issue with prompts that are used in Lifecycle Manager for source (Cognos 10.2.2). The prompts that are used in Lifecycle Manager will not function correctly, either the page will stay blank or the buttons on the page will not function. I don't see any such issues with Target (CA 11.1.3)

Want to check, did you come across such issue?

Is your Cognos 10 environment single server install(application server and gateway on same machine) or distributed install?

I really appreciate any help.
