Hi,

I have an existing report in HTML format which is set up with a column allowing a drill through to another Cognos report, also in HTML format.  I now have a need to display these reports as PDF, though the drill through does not function whilst the first report is in PDF format.

Is this possible to do ? i.e. Drill through from PDF to another Cognos report - any assistance would be appreciated

I don't know what to tell you in terms of troubleshooting, but drillthrough from PDF is possible in ReportNet, I just tried it.

Hi!  What version of Adobe Acrobat are you running on your desktop?   I seem to remember having an issue with one of the versions.  Also, can you please more fully describe the behavior you see?   Are the drill-thru links showing on the pdf?   How did you create the drill-thru?

Hi

I am Using Adobe Reader 7.0
After clicking on the Drill down link on Report 1, I receive the standard "HTTP 404 - File not found" error.
Yes, the drill through links are showing on the PDF (and the hand pointer changes when you hover over the links, so it knows it has to do something)
Drill through created by a collection of 2 params from the source report, passed to the target report using the "Pass Data Item Value" Method.
Drill Through definitions were defined under "Tools -> Drill Through Definitions" in Report Studio.
I am using Cognos 8.1

Hi!  I'm using ReportNet so your results may vary but....   try this.  Save the pdf with the links to disk.  Open the pdf not with Acrobat, but with Notepad or your favorite editor.  The links are embedded as a form of javascript.  Do a find on "gateway".  My pdf has the fully-qualified name of my crn gateway (in my case http://mart.polaroid.com:9390/cgi-bin/cognosisapi.dll, yes I am not running on port 80,  our netops peope do traffic prioritization and 80 is the lowest of low).   Then find gateway again.  This should get you to the drill target javascript.  The path should be the drill-thru report path (use your html character decoder to figure out the special characters).   What do you find in yours and does the gateway and this.submitForm contain the correct url for your portal?  An example of mine is below

please let me know what you find
