Does CA have something similar to LogviewV2 utility?

Hey Folks,
Can't seem to find a CA equivalent to the logviewV2 utility that was bundled with Cognos 10.X.

I've confirmed that the existing logviewv2 will work just fine with Cognos Analytics, logs, but it seems to have quite a few unknown dll dependencies.

So when I try to just bring it over to our CA servers it won't startup.  Not really feasible to have a cognos 10.X install just to get it running.

If there isn't a replacement CA logview utility , has anyone managed to get it running on a CA standalone server?

Thanks!

My understanding is that log viewer was an internal application that wasn't meant to be integrated into Cognos. It was a tool for IBM dev/support that was well liked, and so they decided to include it "as-is".

With that being said, it's extremely useful for troubleshooting. I hope they consider it in future releases.

Have you tried using a combination of Process Monitor and Event Viewer to see what files it's looking for? Perhaps that may be a starting point.

Yah we really like it as well.

I'll do some more digging and if I can come up with what dlls are required i'll append to this topic.

I like LogviewV2 as well.  It's really handy for highlighting and filtering.  Really allows you to narrow down your search to quickly identify problems.

In 11.0.4, LogviewV2 is broken.  Something about missing dependencies.

In 11.0.6, IBM solved the problem by removing the product altogether.
