Cognos Analytics - Publishing a Report

Hi COGNOiSE,
I am new to Cognos Analytics and this is my first time posting anything on this site. I have created a report and published it to our company's internal portal. The report published using HTML link [uses Cognos Server name in URL] so data can be updated when users are trying to access the report. However, every user's who tried to pull a report the Cognos server is asking for their credentials. I do not want to create 250 plus credentials.

The users are already validated when they log in to our internal portal. They do not need a separate credential to access the report.

What can I do so user's can click on the link and be able to see the report without credentials? Is a single sign on or anything in dispatcher URL change may help?

I am using Cognos v11.0.5 on Windows Server 2012 Standard.

There are ways to configure Cognos for authentication through an existing authentication provider (LDAP, AD, etc.). This is done by the Cognos Administrator in the Cognos Configuration tool. If you are the admin, and you aren't sure how to do that, I highly recommend you take IBM's Administration course because that topic is covered there.

That being said, when you open Cognos Configuration expand Security (if it is not already expanded). Right click on Authentication, choose New resource > Namespace and start making appropriate decisions for your environment.

If this is already configured, then the users just need to login with appropriate credentials. To not have to enter credentials, Single Sign-on is what you want. My vendor helped me configure our environment with Active Directory via a gateway like the instructions specify (https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSEP7J_11.0.0/com.ibm.swg.ba.cognos.inst_cr_winux.doc/t_gateway_iis.html#gateway_iis).

Thanks for your reply, I will look into this solution. Just reading this, I probably think it may not work in our current environment but hopefully, it may lead to some good.
