LDAP Users showing as 'Unavailable'

Hi Cognoise Community,
Hope you're doing well.

I've been struggling with the following issue.
Our Cognos environment is setup to fetch the Active Directory users, which we (the Cognos Administrators) add to (custom) Cognos security groups.
This allows the end users to access the environment using their Windows credentials.

When a person leaves the organization, the AD team deletes the account (which is OK, from a security perspective).
Cognos however reflects all these deleted users as 'Unavailable' in the administration panel.
Until now, we do a weekly manual action, to go through each security group, select the 'Unavailable' entry, and delete it.
This is very time consuming (as we need to do this on several environments: PROD / AT / DEV / ...).

Is there any way to do this more efficiently?
Any hints are appreciated.

Run the content manager consistency check, selecting external namespace, and the "fix" option enabled.
