Hi ,
I am facing a weird issue while running a report.Upto yesterday it was working fine but suddenly i got the below error :

QE-DEF-0325 The logon failed for the following reason:RQP-DEF-0068 Unable to connect to at least one database during a multi-database attach to 1 database(s) in:
GMIS_ODS_ARCH
UDA-SQL-0031 Unable to access the "GMIS_ODS_ARCH" database. Check that the connection parameters to the database are configured correctly. For example, ensure that the data source connection contains the signon information, such as a password, to connect to the database.UDA-SQL-0107 A general exception has occurred during the operation "attach".ORA-28000: the account is locked

I have contacted the DBA,The DB account is not locked .
When my colleague ran the same report he is getting the a different error like below:

CAF-WRN-2082 An error has occurred. Please contact your administrator. The complete error has been logged by CAF with SecureErrorID:2016-08-10-12:36:37.088-#27

Can anybody suggest me what to do next?

Thanks in adv

When you get a UDA error it means something happened at the database, and you are often going to receive the error directly from the database.

I know your DBA is saying the account was not locked, but "ORA-28000: the account is locked" is a response error from the database -- not from Cognos. Therefore, I would include them in troubleshooting to find out why Oracle is logging that error. At this point your investigation should be in Oracle.

As for your colleague, he might not necessarily be getting a different error. He cannot see the actual error due to his security permissions, and that is the generic error Cognos throws when such is the case. Copy the timestamp from his error and search for that exact stamp in the logs (cogserver.log). You will find what the actual error is, and that it'll likely be the same as yours.

Hi Jay,

Thank you so much for the reply.
I was also feeling that nothing is wrong from cognos side. Thanks for confirming.

sdf

try to test connection for "GMIS_ODS_ARCH".
Depends on company policy, sometimes, passwords are set to expire.
This might be one reason, that the credentials used for the db connection changed.

Mita

Thanks sdf...The password actually got changed and it was not communicated to others.

But I have one more doubt. While updating any query subject when I am selecting a data souce connection why is it asking for username and password.I am facing this for one data source only.for rest its not asking for username and pwd.

Thanks.

sdf

check the data source connection credentials, you might want to select sign on to be used.

this is under configuration.
