dynamic column sorting on date column

Hi,

i am applying the dynamic column sorting in a list report using drill through definition. it is working fine with the character and integer columns. But not sorting on date column. how can we do this?

we are using the progress open edge as a database.

You mean the data resides in Progress Openedge ? Doesn't that require to connect via ODBC? I used to be a  Progress 4GL programmer a decade ago and remember that lot of things in Cognos didn't work they way it was supposed to and eventually found out that the way Progress interprets SQL was the problem more than anything else. That, of course, was long time back so not sure how it is now but if it is the same then you have the answer. Maybe someone else can chip in here.
