Database SQL to Cognos

I am using database views sql to create query in Cognos. I am following exactly same sql to create query but Cognos has different output than database.

What might be the reasons or solutions?

1. A general interest question
I'm not sure the situation has been clearly defined. Did you import some views into FM or did you create query subjects with written SQL?  If the latter, why have you chosen that approach?

2. Some troubleshooting ideas

When you say you are not getting the same results as querying the views in the database, can you describe what the difference is? Do you see values which make sense for some query items and not for others?  Do you see any patterns to what you are observing?

When you looked at the query in the query information tab, what did you see?  Did the SQL look right to you?  If not, what sorts of things were not right?

Just as a hunch, are the aggregations of query items what you want?

Have you double checked the usage of the query items?  Do the facts have the usage property set to measure, keys set as identifier, and attributes set to attribute?
