Hi everyone,

We use Cognos Executive Viewer and we must migrate to Cognos Express.
But, does Cognos Express offers the same functionality and the same ease of access to OLAP cubes that Cogoss Executive Viewer does ?

Thanks

Hi,

What version of Express are you moving to? Some of the earlier Express versions came with a component called Advisor, which was Executive Viewer with a different name. I think this was dropped a while ago and effectively replaced by Cognos Workspace Advanced - which delivers similar (but not identical) capabilities.

Cheers!

We use Cognos Executive Viewer 9.5.0.0 (2765).
We planned to migrate to the latest version, because the actual server that host EV 9 is a Windows 2003 which is no longer supported.
But how we can use Cognos Express to do the same thing than EV, currently i do not know.

You'd need to look at Cognos Workspace Advanced, and compare the functionality of this with EV. You will probably find it does the same things you currently do in EV - you just need to learn how it works, as it's a little different than EV.

Why do you not use the successor of Executive Viewer ? You would find some Information to migration here: http://www.cubus-ev.com/en/technologies#migration-ibm-cubus
