Hello - I'm a first time user, so please forgive what may seem like a simple problem to some.
The finished report needs to be a simple Excel list with a crosstab summary of the list.
My problem is getting the crosstab summary to show on a separate tab.
Right now the list and crosstab are on the same tab.
I'm using Report Studio 10.2.2
Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Buster

If you copy the crosstab to a new report page within Report Studio then it will show as a separate tab when you export to Excel.

Does your report get viewed within a browser and if so do you need the list and crosstab to be displayed next to each other?  If so, then you could use render variables to get this to work but I'll wait for you to reply before I go into more detail on that.

Hi Dax - Sorry for my delayed response.  The package I use was modified, and as a newbie it takes time for me to re-create the report. But anyway, I was able to create the 2 tabs in the Excel output by copying the crosstab to a new page. I was also able to change the name of the tabs except it always tags on an underscore and tab #. Ex: first tab name = "Detail List_1", second tab name = "Summary_2".  I can live with this, but if you know an easy way to get rid of the "_tab#" it would be helpful.

Even though the report will be viewed in Excel and not HTML, for curiosity I clicked File>Report Properties and selected View pages as tabs.  This showed the tabs in HTML output without the "_tab#". So why can't it do the same in Excel?
Thanks again for you help.

I'm using Ver 10.2.2

This change allows tabbed output in Excel to display names on the tabs corresponding to page names or page break values.

Cognos Administration > Configuration > Dispatchers and Services:

•   Batch Report Service Advanced Settings:
       o   Parameter: RSVP.EXCEL.PAGEGROUP_WSNAME_ITEMVALUE
       o   Value: True
•   Report Service Advanced Settings:
       o   Same as above.
