Hi,
on Cognos BI 10.2.1 in Report Studio I would like to create a report with some critical event marked as vertical line. See attachment.
Is it possible to create such a graph?
Thanks

Lynn

Looks like a category baseline to me. There have been a few questions lately about this same topic. Here's one that might help:

Lynn,
I tried to open xml files from above thread, but I am getting error:
The report version "http://developer.cognos.com/schemas/report/12.0/" is not supported. Expected report version "http://developer.cognos.com/schemas/report/11.0/".
It looks like this is attached file from Cognos BI 10.2.2 (in URL 12.0), but I am using Cognos BI 10.2.1. (in URL 11.0). Is there some way I can convert this samples to version I can open?

I have now figure it out how to create categorical baseline (= vertical line) by providing expression.
1. New Chart. Line graph.
2. Add years to x-axis and price measure in y-axis.
3. Click on graph and from Properties window inside "Chart Annotations" section double click on "Category Baselines".
4. Baselines dialog opens. Click on New small icon and select Layout Calculation.
5. Dialog opens. On Queries tab drag a member from Available Components to Expression Definitions in my case: [Year 2009].
6. In Expression Definition it appears [Query1].[Year 2009]. Validate the expression. No error. This is the trap I fall in. In this case there is no categorical baseline drawn. But it looks like expression is false! I played around and write somehow "dummy" expression: [Query1].[Year 2009]=[Query1].[Year 2009]  so the same member on both sites. And now categorical baseline is written.
7. On graph inside "Markers, notes, baselines, and trendlines" I clicked on "Layout Calculation" and from Properties window inside Text Source I have double clicked on Text member and typed in text: My critical event.

Question: Is it possible to add text "My critical event" in the graph? Because I will create several independent categorical baselines and I would like to name them on graph itself.

Bonus question: Is there something I can write like add categorical base like every odd year e.g. 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013 and 2015 in my case using some expression (other solution is to add "Layout Calculation" for each of the baselines like above sample)?

My system:
- Cognos BI 10.2.1 fixpack 6
- Cognos TM1 10.1.1 fixapck 2 (this is my dimensional data source)
