Hi ,

I am using dimensional reporting and I have a report built based on region and product showing sales.
                 Product1    Product2
Midwest     100             200
West           150             250
NorthEast    300             350

Now I have a relational data which would have Region and a distribution list with cam iD.

So I will have a master detail with my report based on Region field and report will be bursted accordingly.

Now assume I wanted to send a report to a person for all the regions or say 2 regions then i would have to add them in both the appropriate distribution list.

But in this case the report will be going twice

like below

one for Midwest and one for West .

Is there a way both these data goes together in one report.

Any suggestions is appreciated.

Thanks,
Nithya

If you are bursting, the separation of outputs depends on how you defined the burst grouping within burst options. If you specified burst grouping based on Region, then the report will create a separate output for each region - because you told it to. If you want it to do something different, you need to figure out a way of defining the grouping to suit your requirement.

Cheers!

Meep!

cognos05

so how would I define burst on multiple regions , then how would my master detail be linked to .

As of now

Region CamID
N          cam123
W         cam234
S          cam456
E          cam123

And my report would be

        Product 1
N      1000

      Product 1
W    2000

How to group regions, Any suggestions is appreciated or is it better to send them seperately.

Thanks,
Nithya
