Hi,
I hope someone can help me out.
I am familiar with regular installation on Windows platform of Cognos. Also familiar with Load Balancing installation. But now I am at a client where I have to install and configure a Gateway in the DMZ. I have seen some topics here and there, so I have somewhat an idea on the how and where.
But, I can't find any information on the possibility of installing the Gateway on a Windows machine, while the Cognos installation is on a Solaris machine.
Anyone any thoughts on this?

Also, if anyone could point me to information about installation steps to perform for this Gateway/DMZ installation, that would be great.

Thank you!

you'll only need to secure that your DMZ also have a web server. Then install gateway component only.
Introduce your DMZ gateway to your BI app server.

Mixing of operating systems is fine. Install only gateway component on your Windows box. In the configuration, point it to the dispatcher URI of the app tier server (Solaris). Allow tcp port 9300 through the firewall - this assumes default port
