Hi Team,

I am trying to install cognos 10.2.2 on a Linux OS. When I try to start the install with ./issetup I get the following error:

Reading archive information - /home/cognosbi/IBM_Cognos/untarred/linuxi38664h/setup.csp. Please wait...
Error: Can't open display:

Do I have to have xwindows installed if I want to install on Linux and do not have a pre-configured response file. This is the first install and don't have a previous response file that I can use for silent or unattended installation.

Edit: Found a good post on Linux install: http://www.cognoise.com/index.php/topic,26814.msg85853.html#msg85853

However it doesnt say if xwindows or a vnc viewer is always required for a linux install or not.

This can be closed. I was able to deploy cognos 10.2.2 on linux. If anyone has any questions, feel free to open a thread and point me to it. I would be more than happy to share my experience.

Can you share with me the steps you took to install. I am trying to install Cognos 10.2 on AIX and do not have X Windows installed on the AIX server.
