Hi,

When you select the Legend property of the chart, you get the dialog below displayed:

Just select Top Centre (highlighted) and that's it.

I dont see the dailog appear in Cognos 10.1.1 , Can you please highlight the option in Report Studio...

BigChris

I'm using 10.2 so it might be slightly different, but if you click on your chart as a whole, then look in your properties pane, you should see a section for Chart Annotations. In that section you should see Legend, which by default is set to Top Right. Click in there and then on the ellipsis and you should see the options that The Muppet posted.

FYI - you *are* using legacy charts.

The image you posted is a legacy chart. To get the option I posted, you need to be using a chart from the new(er) AVS charting engine, introduced in Cognos 10. You need to go to Tools > Options, select the Advanced tab, and make sure "Use legacy chart authoring" is unchecked. You then need to close and re-open Report Studio, and bring in a new chart. Any existing charts will remain as legacy charts. You need to bring in new ones after making the change to see the new chart types.

Thank you Both,
Yes i am using legacy chart because i have other charts in my report aswell. In non legacy chart , i dont see option to show values inside pie chart. I am getting values around the pie chart , but not inside the chart.

At the same time , in legacy & non legacy chart.... i placed 3 data items in measures... 2 are line chart (L1, L2) with y1 & y2 axis & one bar chart (B1) with y2 axis. The order it is displaying is B1,L1,L2, But it should display L1, L2,B1.
Attached output for your ref.
Thank you cognoise!

Hi,

So you have a need for both legacy and AVS charts in the same report? A legacy pie and an AVS combination chart? From what I posted above, you can figure out that this is easily possible. Create the initial report with legacy charting enabled and bring in the legacy charts you need. Switch off legacy charts, save the report, close and re-open Report Studio, then bring in the AVS charts you need.
