Hi Team,

How to control the sorting order of legend. Here i have 3 diff measures in the chart. By default Bar chart one is coming first and rest line is second & third. But my order should be reverse . New cases, completed cases & Avg TAT. If i make all the measures as line chart then it is coming properly but here Avg TAT should be Bar.
Please advive.

Hi krishdw85,

If you are using a combination chart, select the chart and on properties, navigate to Combinations property under General. Click on the ellipsis, then you can change the order of your legend or series on the dialog box that will appear. Please see attached image for your reference. Not sure if this will solve your problem. Hope it helps.

Cheers! :)

Hi, i am not using legacy charts.... bcoz it has some limitations.
Actaully sorting is cmg fine in html output , only in excel output it is coming different

krishdw85

Attached outputs for your reference. Need the order same as HTML

ToriBurns

What are you using? What do you see on the properties of the chart? Did you try my suggestion?

Thanks and regards,
Tori :)

i tried to follow your suggestion but i dont see those options i am using cognos 10.1.1

ToriBurns

I guess your package is dimensional. Not sure though why the order/sorting of your legend is different when run on excel.

Cheers!

my package is relational only.....it is simple chart with 3 measures and one time dimesion. Out of 3 measures 2 line & 1 bar. In Excel by defult Bar chart data item name is coming first though it is placed last. In HTML it is cmg as expected.

Hi krishdw85,

Can you please check under Tools > Options > Advanced if "Use legacy chart authoring" and "Override 10.x styles on new reports" is checked? If so, please uncheck it. Try to recreate your chart. You would noticed a difference. Select combination chart or column chart. Select the chart and you would see on properties the combinations under general. Fix the order there. I tried this and my excel is showing the same output as the html. This is just a suggestion. Not sure if this will work for you. Hope it helps.

Cheers!

Yeah i tried same... but it is not working.
Appreciate for your help. PFA output....unchecked the option and created a new combination chart .
