Hi,
I am new to transformer and learning with a small sample data.

Have built time dim using date wizard and works fine.
Have built a location dimension which has data like

Data for location dimension with levels all region->Region->City->REPID
All Regions^East^Miami^1235
All Regions^West^NewJersey^1236
All Regions^West^NewJersey^1237
All Regions^East^Naples^1248
All Regions^East^Miami^1249
All Regions^East^Naples^1234

Now my transactional data looks like

City^REPID^Months^Sales
Naples^1234^Aug-14^5000
Miami^1235^Sep-14^2500
NewJersey^1236^Sep-14^2500
NewJersey^1237^Oct-14^4500
Naples^1248^Oct-14^4500
Miami^1249^Nov-14^5600
Naples^1234^Nov-14^4750
Miami^1249^Nov-14^15000

Here I am getting an error while building the cube like Category generation has quit in row 4 of data source. transformer could not create a ctegory with the source value 'NewJersey' in the dimension Location.

I have already marked my rep id as unique and move.
If I mark my City level as also unique then there is no error.

Why should I mark my city as unique, its not the lowest level right , a city can contain various reps right?

Anyone please explain.

Thanks,
Nithya

It seems to me you might not actually have a unique single column key on your location table. The uniqueness is a combination of at least city and rep id.

I think.
