Hi Guys!

Please help me, we are encountering "Access Denied" when using cognos mobile app.
Im testing the cognos mobile app in my ipad mini. It is working when i try our 10.1.1 server but facing the access denied after we input user credentials in 10.2.1.

10.2.1 setup
Two Server - CM set as primary and secondary- both have GW- dispatcher set for both-FP4
also checked the module mapping and handler settings- allowpath = true.

In cognos configuration, cognos mobile is checked.

Please help, are there any other steps to secure?

Hi,

Your issue is related to users security.

In 10.2.1, there is a new role "Mobile user" which needs to be implemented.
Also in configuration check whether a mobile services is having authentication set.

The user which you are login with must have the mobile user role in order to get access from mobile phones.

You need to assign the appropriate role to a user who will access via mobiles.
for more nfo about "Mobile user" please go through IBM doc.

Hi Saumil,

Thanks for the reply.

I did read the doc and found the info regarding the Mobile Users.
After setting users for mobile, i still can't login to cognos mobile app.
So i investigated the log files and found some error with the dispatcher.
Then, researched about the errors and found that in some cases after Cognos services is started and the interface was opened quickly, the dispatcher settings will not be started properly.

So i restarted one services, one server at a time and wait for a couple of minutes before opening any BI interface.

NOw, cognos mobile is available.
Thanks for the kick-start!

Regards,
feds

Just to get back,

We are experiencing the same problem. After restarting the services. Cognos mobile will work. But checking the next day, the error will re-occur. The remedy now is to restart the services every morning.
But i am sure this is not the way it should be.

Please help.

I would log this with IBM support if I was you.

I have had similar issues with the dispatchers seemingly not to be working and needed to be restarted at random times and what we found was that the services need to be run under a system account rather than the local machine account. In a distributed system all services need to be using the same system account or communication between servers seems to be lost.

Not sure if that solves your issues but its been my experience that it is something to double check

I will check this.
Currently different users are running the service.

Oh, by the way do we have any documentations regarding this (running on system accounts)?

Thanks!

Unfortunately no documentation from IBM since its from experience not that i'm saying there is none we just found it though trial and error.

Im getting this error today after assigning a system account to both servers.

1139
error loading user record (code 1139)
com.cognos.mobile.common.CMException: error loading user record (code 1139)

Still no luck, i tested for a week and each and everyday it still needs to restart the service for the Cognos mobile to function.

Sometimes we are having blob error and sometimes the "AAA-AUT-0011" error. After restating the services from both servers everything will be back to normal but checking it again the next day would produce those errors. This are in IE.

Trying this in mozilla results to :

IBM Cognos Software
DPR-ERR-2022

No response generated. This may be due to an incorrect configuration, a damaged installation, or because the dispatcher did not finish initializing.
CAF-WRN-2082 An error has occurred. Please contact your administrator. The complete error has been logged by CAF with SecureErrorID:2014-11-10-10:10:17.559-#121

Im not sure if this has something to do with the cognos structure we have.
We have two servers both with CM and APP/web tier. Configured for HA, we have primary and secondary CM set for both. On top of this is a load balancer.

I really have no idea what could be causing this issue.
