Default Prompt selection

Hi

I wonder if anyone can help , using Cognos Express 10.1 Report Studio

Is it possible for a prompt to have a default value that provide a selection when you first open your report

I have a value prompt, m_sales_reporting, that has 3 values you can pick - Wholesale, retail and PTS  I would like the report to open with Wholesale already selected

Hi Mike,

I don't use Express so I can only answer your question in terms of "normal" report studio...apologies if it doesn't apply to Express. Once you've created your prompt with the three static choices, you should see an option in the Properties for Default Selections - I've taken a screenshot so you can see what I mean.

Again, apologies if this isn't relevant for you...but it might help.

Hi,

That worked very well, just one thing, the Wholesales values where chosen but the value in the Prompt rectangle stayed at m_sales_reporting.

Is their a way for the Prompt value shown to change to 'Wholesales'  This will show the user that he is loking at Wholesale values.
