Hi,

I've encountered a problem when I've tried to create a new datasource with Metadata Wizard.
Maybe it is merely a technical problem or something with the Cognos configration...

So when I start the wizard, and click on the first NEXT button I get the following message:

Internet Explorer Script Error

An error has occured in the script on this page.

Line:281
Char:8
Error: Object expected
Code: 0
Url: ..../cognos8/cgi-bin/cognos.cgi

then the second form appears (Specify a name and description - New Data Source wizard )

After I fill the form and click on the NEXT button - two new error appears:

Line:308
Char:8
Error: Object expected
Code: 0
Url: ..../cognos8/cgi-bin/cognos.cgi

Line:46
Char:9
Error: Object expected
Code: 0
Url: ..../cognos8/cgi-bin/cognos.cgi

...and after that I can't continue the process.

I've tried it with IE 7 (from the Win2003 server) and IE 6 (from an XP workstation), but is is the same on all these places.

There is an article about these script errors on COGNOS knowledge base - it shows two Microsoft KB article about damaged .htt files, but the repair processes seems a bit outdated ... and well they hasn't solved this problem.

Could anybody help me in this case?

Thank you in advance!

OK, in the meantime it was solved.

The problem was with the IIS virtual directory configuration - and the Cognos configuration, but it is OK now.
