After migrate package from 8.2 to 10.2.1 user not able to access that package

Hi All,

We migrate one package from cognos 8.2 to cognos 10.2.1 after migrate the user not able to access that package in 10.2.1 but user can able to access in 8.2

Please advaise.

Hi,

How did you handle the migration, was it done via export and import deployment of the single package from a C8 environment to a C10 one?  Or did you upgrade an entire contentstore?  Or some other method?

Do the security permissions on the package object in Cognos Connection look the same between versions?  Is the user account a member of any associated groups or roles in the C10 environment?

Does the user account exist in the namespace in both environments?

Pretty sure, and if memory servers me correctly, you have to bring it to 8.4 first, then 10. Get it upgraded.
Easier still if you have the model, bring it into 10 FM and see if it upgrades ok. If you don't have the model you can extract/recover it. Think you may have to do the 8.2 - to - 8.4 - to - 10 there too though. Either way give it a shot and see.
