Hi,

We have some existing reports that needs to update the Page Header of the report template.
I created a new template following the steps below and I want to apply the report template that I created on all the reports.
Do you have any easy way to do that on all the reports

Hi,

The problem you have is that the page header from the original template has been copied into the xml specification of all of your current reports. ANy new reports you create will obviously now copy in the new page header from your revised template. Your challenge is how to reverse-engineer all your existing report specs. You could either write come code to do this if you have the SDK and some programming skills, or you could invest in a tool like BSP's Metamanager which allows you to automate these kinds of processes.

Going forwards, it might save you a lot of work in future if you modify your report template to use a layout component reference - have a single report containing the page header and link to this report from your template. That way each new report will also link to this one report for the header. If you then modify the report all the linked reports will inherit the change.

Cheers!

Now I think we could be in danger of a three way split in this thread...the follow up question would have to be cream, custard or ice cream?

MFGF

Ahhh. Custard. What else could there possibly be? :-) My reply, of course, is "Last stand" ;)
