No. Cognos Insight is a client tool that installs on a user's PC and allows them to do local data discovery. You can download a trial copy from www.analyticszone.com.

Cognos Workspace and Business Insight are the same thing - Cognos Workspace is simply the new name for Business Insight. The reason for the change of name was to prevent confusion between Business Insight and Cognos Insight - which are different things.

Some features have been added to Cognos Workspace since it changed name from Business Insight. For details, take a look at the New Features guide - the changes are all detailed in there.

It is (was) so confusing!! For a while we had Cognos Insight, Business Insight, Business Insight Advanced and Cognos Consumer Insight all as different things! The only insight lacking was how much confusion these names would cause! ;)

These days we have Cognos Insight, Cognos Workspace, Cognos Workspace Advanced and IBM Social Media Analytics. The only thing left with "Insight" in the name is the desktop tool :)
