DQM Caching

I have a general question on DQM. I am working on few reports based on DQM packages. Whenever I run the report first time in the morning, it is taking bit of time (for example 6 mins) but the executions after the first run is taking very less time even if I change the parameter selection (for example 50 secs). Is this because the DQM caching? or Am In confusing the coincidence with the server load?

Thanks for your inputs.

I'd say most certainly it's a result of the caching DQM is doing. It will reuse parts of the cache where possible and only query the database for stuff it doesn't already have. You can use DQA (Dynamic Query Analyzer) to see what DQM is doing at any point - where it is hitting cache, where it is querying the database and what queries are getting submitted.

Cheers!
