Global Filters and Drill down for Dashboards

On my dashboard, I have a required region prompt set to auto submit. The parameter is getting passed using a portlet without a channel to a crosstab and a chart report. I'm using the parameter in a slicer.

When I first select a region, the crosstab and chart are getting updated. But when I select another region I get an error "One or more of the required values is missing. Required values are needed to product the report"

When I refresh the page and select a region, it works again. But I get the same error when I select another region.

When I drill down in my crosstab viewer, it drills down on the crosstab but the chart viewer does not get updated.
It seem my parameter is not getting passed?

Any idea what I could be missing?
