How do I install Cognos for Microsoft Office

Hello all,

My company is new to the realm of Cognos Express.  We have a single server installation.  I was just informed that we also have access to Cognos for Microsoft Office.  Our install media for CX is all on the server but  I cannot find any Cognos for Microsoft Office installation files for the life of me.  I can't seem to find any on the IBM site via Passport either so that leads me to believe that they are on the server....  somewhere....

Any help is much appreciated!

Hi,

I think there's some confusion going on between Express and Cognos 10 Enterprise versions here. Cognos for Microsoft Office is one of the cohorts for Cognos 10 Enterprise but is not available with Express. The only "office integration" in Express is the ability to render Reporter reports as Excel, and the ability to use Perspectives for Excel with Xcelerator. Who told you Express provides access to Cognos for Microsoft Office (and, more importantly, how loudly are you going to yell at them?) :)

It was our IBM local account specialist responsible for Cognos!  Well maybe she's new, or maybe I just got a crude introduction into the sordid world of IBM local account reps, lol...
