Dears,

I am not sure it's the right place to put but ....
I have been working as a Java(J2EE) developer for more than 4 years. Recently, I am tired of pure technologies or just learning technologies(I have database/sql, application server, Linu/Unix knowledgement and I don't want to go deeper in development area). I also worked on Oracle EBS for 1 more year before I worked on java development. Approaching 30 years old, I suddenly feel I should try something new out of technologies.  So, I transferred to another team to be a Cognos Support in my company.  Most of the work is resolving customer issues by email/phone communication.  What's the future of this position?  I want to know more about business and then to be a solution consultant to service customer on site. I set this goal and a period of 3 years to achieve. Could you share your experience/suggestion/steps to help me reach the target?  thoughts?

Thanks
Ricky

Hi,

Before getting directly to BI reporting tools and Cognos particularly, i would suggest if you could understand the DW concepts. This would help you understand Cognos better.
You will get various documents over the net.

Thanks,

Thanks a lot.

I got a book: <<Data Mining: Concepts and Techniques>>. I am reading it and meanwhile learning Cognos. I have higher expectation for myself.

Thanks,
RR
