How to emulate a user's security?

I am a new admin for a Cognos10 environment.  We have a user who says they can't see some data on a report prompt, but when I look at how the user is set up, I think it should work fine.  Is there a way I can emulate the user's login, so I see the same things the user sees?  We use Active Directory for a SSO, so I don't know of a way to do this, without having the user actually login themselves.  I'd rather do some troubleshooting on my own, without taking the users time.  At my prior employer, we had Cognos8, and we would simply create a temporary login/password for the user, which allowed the admins to login under that user's profile.  I don't know how to do this when AD is used for SSO.  By the way, the data in question is controlled by a security filter for the query subject in Framework Manager.

I would suggest having the network admin, or whomever has access to AD create a test user. The user id could be something like 'cognostest' and then you can assign the 'cognostest' user to the same groups that your other user is in. Log in as 'cognostest' and verify what you are seeing. If you are using single sign on, you could login to the network as 'cognostest' or you could remove the single sign on temporarily.

Hi,

I believe this issue more of the development team rather than admin team.
If the data security is set at group level then you can reproduce the same issue with a dummy user. But, if the data security is set at user level same results cannot be reproduced with surity.

Here the person who has developed the FM and reports will be able to share more insights.

Rahul

You can emulate any valid user id in Framework manager.  This should allow you to test user level security on the model being used in the report.
