New dataitem for rollup aggregations?

We recently upgraded to Cognos 10.1.1.

In Cognos 8.4, I could insert a dataitem 'Client' to my report, set the rollup aggregation function to 'Count' and then use the 'Summarize' -> 'Count' button to create rollup footers based on the 'Client' dataitem.

In Cognos 10.1 I can do the same, but then Cognos adds a new separate dataitem called 'Count(Client)' to display in the footers. I really dislike all those extra dataitems just for summaries.

Is there a setting to revert to the Cognos 8.4 behaviour?

I'm not sure of a way to revert to the old behavior, but you can unlock the report remove the auto generated data item and place in your own data item.

Yes, I found out that could be done as a workaround.
It would be nice if there's a way to revert back to the old behaviour, because it's a lot of work to replace all the autogenerated dataitems.
