Report validation slows

[Cognos8]

I have created report studio reports in cognos 10. This report contains 5 simple queries with filters. Only year and month prompt. it executes in 10 seconds. But report validation takes long time. Hour glass keeps clocking and goes to hung status. i appreciate any quick reply . Thanks in advance
