Solved: Filter problem with two nested data decks

Hey guys,

I experienced a problem today concerning active reports. I've got a data tab selection for cost centers that is connected to a data deck for these cost centers. The data deck contains three further elements: A crosstab, a progressive chart and a line graph. By selecting a cost center, I display the corresponding accounts in a cross tab. Furthermore, there is a progressive chart where you can select an account and in the additional line graph, which is in another underlying data deck for accounts, you can see the cost development for this account (The line graph has a master-detail-connection to the data deck for the accounts). My problem is that the sums of the cross tab and the progressive chart for one account differ from the sum of one account in the line graph. It seems like the data deck for the line graph ignores the filter for the cost center (data deck for cost centers) and therefore, it sums up all the costs for one account independent of the selected cost center. So, the higher-level data deck selection for the cost center gets ignored.

I'm using Cognos v10.1.1 and a relational database and would be very glad if you could please help me.

Thank you very much in advance!
Arne

Hi Arne,

do you really do use a relational data source or a dmr?
Because there are some things to consider using several functionalities depending on the kind of data source beneath it.

Hey Charon,

thanks for your reply. It is a relational data source. But I solved the problem on my own now. The solution was that I had to set up two connections within one master-detail-relationship.
