text box prompt for blob

I need to use a text box prompt for blob field.
I built the prompt and when I try to run the report I get this massege:

prompts involving blob query items are not supported .

what can I do to allow search on this field?

You can try Cast function to convert it into character. But i think you wil need to change the data type in Database.

I used the cast function and now I don't get the error message,
but now the prompt doesn't do the search it is asked for.
