i am getting an error: WHILE[CCLMsg: system text='Invoking node action: NODEACTION.SAVE'] .. while trying to save a cube of a particular application, whereas for the same application when try the same from server browser, it throws an error: COM object method returns error code: 0x80004005; E_FAIL (Unspecified error)'
WHILE [CCLMsg: system text='ServiceBrokerHost.nodeOpen() – open model'] ... at the time of opening.

i have tried all these without success: 1. Making sure that the e.List has appropriate View depths set on all the Nodes. 2. My server has 8GB RAM with 64bit system.(so there should not be an issue of memory) 3. Persist setting tried with "Off" or "Client". 4. tried with deleting temp files both from windows explorer and browser history.
And yes, there is no validation rule set.

Please suggest.

Hi Tresescob,

Sounds like you've done a good deal of work yourself.  I do have a couple of things to start with:

1. What's the version of planning being used?
2. Are all applications affected?
3. Has this application worked in the past?  If so, are you aware of any changes?  Perhaps a recent upgrade or Fix Pack install?

If you have not tried other applications, give that a try and if successful then it sounds like something specific to this app.

Cheers

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

1. version - 8.4.1
2. no.
3. yes it worked. changes (modification in dimension in a cube) were made in recent past. but then it worked for sometimes. no such up-gradation or fix done.

yes that's true, its specific to that application. Eventually i fixed it finally by reducing the size of the cube.

But still, there are some questions unanswered:
1. Why did it behave differently for client and server browser?
2. It worked after the recent most changes, but suddenly started weird behaviour, why?

Thanks and regards,   tresesco
