job when scheduled causing issue.....

I have a job with couple of reports in them. sending out email with pdf attachment.
If the job is run immediately, then the job runs successfully and i receive a mail in my mailbox along with the PDF attachment having data in the pdf.

Now the issue is -
When the job is scheduled with future date/time, the job runs successfully (history shows successful), and i recieve a mail with attachment but with empty no data in the pdf.
Thats really annoying. works perfectly when run immediately but casuing issue when scheduled. :-(

Could anybody pls help me out on this issue.

environment: cognos 8.3 , oracle, windows

three things I'd look into to try and narrow down the issue:
1. Try scheduling it to run every five minutes, then go for a smoke/chat/facebook. After 15 minutes check your mailbox. Are all attachments empty? If not, maybe something is wrong with the time you're trying to schedule the job to. Like, maybe it's right over an ETL process.
2. Schedule both reports (Not the job, the actual reports). Do you get an empty attachment? If not, try to make the job run reports consecutively rather than together, maybe you're timing out your system.
3. Try re-creating the job.

One more thing ... if the job is run immediately, then the job gets completed very quickly( takes few minutes and i receive mail and attachment has data in it). BUT when it is scheduled, then it takes very long time to complete(hours) that too i get empty attachment.

As indicated, for verification, I have scheduled the individual report to run and this too is taking very long time ( as of now its already been 3 hours for a simple report and the schedule is still running).
Simultaneously, I ran the same report with same parameters (run with options --> send by email ) and i got the mail in my mail box within 2 minutes.

Looks like there is an issue with the job scheduler or with some server setup options and i am not able to track it.

And this is the issue with any job created.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Hey guyz...
The issue has been rectified.
Contacted the IBM Cognos support and after different verifications from their side, they suggested to install fixpack for the server( fixpack5 for our case) as one of the option.
And this install indeed did resolve my issue.

Things are running fine now.
