Hi, I'm fairly new to Report Studio, and am struggling to get this to work, so am looking to see if it's even possible.
I need to create a crosstab report showing departments as rows, months as columns, and actual expenditure as the fact cells. However, I need to conditionally format the expenditure to show it as red, white, or green, depending on whether is above, equal to, or below the budget expenditure. The only way I can get this to work is to also show the budget expenditure in the report, but this is not what the customer wants. I need to only display the actual expenditure. I've tried all sorts of trick but cannot fathom it out
To save any more head-scratching, can this be done, and, if so, how??
Thanks for looking :-)

PS setting box type to none doesn't work, as this then 'squashes up' the actual expenditure columns, and they no longer line up with the month column headers... :-(

I think you can exclude budget expenditure column from the crosstab fact cells, but still have it in the query, and select it in the properties of the rows. That should work,

Thanks for suggestion. I will try it out (will be next week), and let you know the result.

Hi,

I think ur question is loike show in the measure places instead of data u need to show red, green for particular records when data is greater than some number.

1) Take a sring variable.
2) Write ur exact case statement in that.
3) Go to report click on the fact cells of the crosstab report.
4) Go to the properties select variable as text source variable.
5) Go to the conditional explorer select red then in the properties
    source type as text
    name as red .......
6)  Like this follow for other colors and run the report.
