Hi everyone

I must be missing something.  I can't seem to find where to set the default output format for a report.  I know this was available in previous versions (we are running 11.0.6) I think as a report property.  Please point me in the right direction.  I am having trouble finding an answer.

Thanks in advance.

No worries ! Posting a question and then answer it yourself increases knowledge of other people  ;)

Thanks for this post was just what I was after. I wan't to run as excel data as default for a specific report.

I am embarrassed to not be able to find this still. I have attached an image of my report properties. I would have thought it should be under run options but it's not.

I am in 11.0.6 too. Feel dumb but where did you find it?

Thanks
Andreas

I appreciate the posts that came before mine but sometime the solutions they contain are not detailed enough to help resolve my own issues as in this case.

I'm using Cognos 11.1.3; and, I need to set a Report so that its output is always rendered as PDF.

From the prior comments in this post, it appears that this might be triggered by a report-level Property.  But regardless of where I look, I've been unable to find that setting.

Searches in "IBM Cognos Analytics - Reporting Version 11.1 - User Guide" have not helped and internet searches have not either.

Does anyone know exactly where to find - or exactly the name of - this setting within Properties?

Thank you.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you are trying to do, but just wanted to mention that there are two places to find report properties.  One is within your report...when editing you can select the Report level in the toolbar (the same place where you would select pages, queries, etc).  There is a properties pane here with some report level settings.

The other is within the action menu of a report within your content folders.  Locate your report in the content folder, click on the action menu, and select Properties.  Under the 'Report' tab within the properties menu is an option to define the Report Format. Not sure if this is what you're looking for but thought it was worth mentioning.

I didn't think to try the second Properties settings which are outside the actual Report authoring UI.  I'll try that next.

Success in v11.1.13 by accessing the Actions Menu > Properties > Report tab > Report Options > Formats.

I'm going to mark this post as "Resolved" as I was successful changing the relevant Property outside of the Report authoring UI.

Well, I guess that I reasonably don't have authority to edit Penny's original post.  So, I can't add "Resolved" into the subject line like I wanted to do. :(

Your friendly Muppet Moderator is happy to help with that :-)
