IBM Support mandating ads

Apparently paying for support is not enough.  The IBM Support site today is popping up a "request" to push ads to you through email.  If you do not consent to receiving ads, you are not allowed to view or open a support case.

The dialog is interesting.  You can select "No", but then you still need to click "I consent" to continue.  Clicking "Cancel" kicks you back to the main menu.

So either consent, or consent.  It's your choice.  Not consenting "will not alter any of the features or functions of IBM support."  Except that we won't let you open or read or update a support case.

Not sure why you saw on the support site but the screenshot you attached is not new. I remember seeing that during installation of version 11.1.7 few years ago and I was able to open a support case after that.

Maybe they are asking you to consent to not being contacted? :-)

So you're assuming it's not deliberate.  It's just idiotic.

So it's just like one of my favorite application prompts.

The question requires a Yes or No answer.  So do I cancel by clicking OK or Cancel?

I was taught to never attribute malice what can easily be attributed to ignorance.  But I tend to assume IBM is pretty smart.
