Reporting / Formula Help - Only show one l...

I have a report that shows all employees (active and termed) within two companies.  Due to recent company transfers, the report is now showing two lines, one line showing terminated in their old company and one line showing active in their new company.

We need the report to show only the active line if the employee has a two lines.  Does anyone know a formula that can do this?  We do have a status code in the report showing if the line is active or termed.

I'm having a very similar problem where I'd like to synchronize 3 queries on 1 Page Set.
1 query is a Master/Parent with 2 others as Children.
I'd like to synchronize them all with 1 Vendor per Page.  Depending on where I put the Page in the Page Sets, only 1 query breaks correctly on the Vendor but the other 2 list all Vendors repeatedly.

Reporting / ******* Passing Multiple Comm...

Hello Friends,

I'm looking for a prompt functionality in Cognos Analytics that allows users to input multiple values, such as 01,02,03,04,05 into a text box or similar prompt. While a search-and-select option is already provided, users prefer a comma-separated input method to enter all values simultaneously. The goal is to dynamically filter the query based on these inputs. I've tried using prompt macros but haven't had success. Any insights, suggestions, or workarounds would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I'd need more information.  What does that even mean?  What are you trying to do?  Cognos Analytics handles user security and profiles pretty well.  What automation do you think you need?

Reporting / Query custom SQL data within v...
Last post by Adrianilloo - 19 Dec 2024 01:30:43 AM
Hello,

When using a standard "visual" Query object in a report, is it possible to run SQL code referencing custom DB tables, package functions, etc? I know we can already use "provider specific functions" such as {sysdate} in case of using Oracle.

Concretely I wish to compare a visually added field with a custom DB package function returned value as in a classic SELECT, for a Detail filter. I'm using Oracle RDBMS.

I could create the whole logic prepending a SQL object within the visual query, but I'd like to mix both styles within the standard/visual query.

Thank you.
