Title: Configuring Access Manager as Authentication provider in IBM Cognos 8.4 64-bit
Post by: cognos.monster on 03 Jun 2010 10:41:06 PM
Hello,

I have recently upgraded my Cognos BI server 8.4 to 64-bit.... The problem is, access manager is not available in the Authentication providers list in Cognos Configuration.

Has anyone else encountered this?  I need to integrate our existing Cognos Access Manager to my new setup.  Need help please

Hi,

You can probably just refer to it as an LDAP source from within Cognos 8.  I've not used the 64-bit version, but I must say I'm surprised that Access Manager is not a listed security provider.

I believe that the Series 7 namespace has not been ported to 64 bit, it's still only 32bit, as Content Manager is 64 bit, it will not work with a 32bit library. The other security providers have been ported to 64bit and that's why that are available in Cognos Configuration.
