Title: Change the LIBS.TAB file
Post by: boringg on 25 May 2010 05:28:15 AM
Hi

We have loads of libraries that are mapped to peoples c drive (we use a shared ini file)

Is there a way i can edit the LIBS.tab file to remove these, as it takes a long time to delete them individually in administration.

I am using Cognos version 7.2

thanks
Daren

I know in 8.3/8.4 that you can do a global string replace on the library locations in the Libraries screen (Maintain Libraries and Users).  I don't remember when they first introduced this function into Analyst so I cannot say if it works in 7.2.

Hello

In the version you are using you require special software to edit a TAB file.

I am aware that Cognos can do this but I have never been able to do so.

I suspect you need to use your current method.
