Title: 8.4 Contributor - context/page dimensions out of sync - feature or bug?
Post by: B. Connell on 20 May 2010 05:49:44 PM
In Contributor v8.1, when an end user selected an item from a page dimension, that selection would remain selected when moving from cube to cube with the same dimension.  For example, columns of Jan-Dec, with Years in a drop down menu at the top of the cube.  Once you change the year, the newly selected year will stay in place as you move around the application until you change it again or log out.

In Contributor 8.4, it seems that you have to re-select the new item every time you move to another cube, even though they are using the exact same dimension.  Is this intentional and part of the price to be paid for enabling user control over cube presentation?  Or is there some switch somewhere that I can flip to keep the dimensions in sync across cubes, the way it worked in v8.1?

In Contributor Administration check the setting for 'Persist Contributor Web Client Settings' - this can be found in the Admin Options for the application.

I think it should be set to Client

Thanks Milt!
That seems to have fixed it.   ;D

May I ask how you figured out that solution?  I can't find anything in the user's guide about that setting.

I appreciate your help,
Briana
