Post by: consultantshaz on 16 May 2010 05:59:27 AM
Hi Experts

Could you pls. let me know how I can specify data security in analysis studio package.

The " Apply Data Secuirty" option is available only with query item and the not the folder/namespace conating the facts and heirarchy dimensions for analysis studio.

Pls . guide.

Hi,

Data security is applied to the query items only. if you have to hide/show folders, namespaces you have to apply the settings in object/package security section. Look in the Framework Manager documentation.

Satish

Thaks for the reply.

But here the scenario is we want to assign geography level security ( user ABC can see only US data , User XYZ can see only India data ) to the users . and the client wants only Analysis Reports so I can't  create a query item and use it Analysis studio. I have to create a dimensional model and put in folder/namespace but then "apply data security" tab is disabled.

Is it possible to do this transformer.

I'm not sure I follow how you are trying to do this, but cube data security is done with custom views in the Transformer model. This is detailed in the documentation.
